Cura Day Hospitals Group is closely monitoring developments associated with the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Australia and will continue to follow the advice of the Commonwealth of Australia Department of Health and the relevant State and Territory Health Authorities. Cura Day Hospitals Group has established a COVID-19 Response Team to ensure that all of our facilities are prepared to manage and respond to the situation appropriately as it escalates.

The safety of our patients and staff remains our highest priority therefore it is a requirement that all Cura Day Hospitals Group patients and carers follow the specific requirements that are in place for people who have returned from a country or region that is at high or moderate risk for COVID-19, or think they may have been in close contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus.

The Australian Government considers the following countries to be at higher risk for COVID-19:

  • Mainland China
  • Iran
  • Italy
  • Republic of Korea
Patients who are returning from one of these higher risk countries, or believe they have come into contact with a confirmed case, should isolate themselves for 14 days. If your scheduled admission falls within this isolation period, please contact your admitting Doctor’s rooms or the hospital directly to notify them.

The Australian Government considers the following countries to be at moderate risk for COVID-19:
  • Cambodia
  • Hong Kong
  • Indonesia
  • Japan
  • Singapore
  • Thailand

Patients who have returned from a country or region that is at a moderate risk for COVID-19 should monitor their health closely. If you have not developed symptoms, you are able to proceed with your scheduled admission. However, if you develop symptoms including a fever and cough you should isolate yourself immediately and urgently seek medical attention. If your scheduled admission falls within this isolation period, please contact your admitting Doctor’s rooms or the hospital directly to notify them.

As this is a rapidly changing situation, please visit the Commonwealth of Australia Department of Health website for the latest updates, including the latest list of at-risk countries as well as advice on symptoms and precautions.
